A feeling of space in a small bathroom
How can you create more space in a small bathroom? With these six commandments!
You want to create or renovate a bathroom but you don't have a lot of space? Follow these six commandments for that extra feeling of space.
THOU SHALT CHOOSE THE RIGHT COLOURS
Use light colours for the walls, floor, ceiling and furniture as they will better reflect light. For example, opt for light green or blue - trendy, fresh and calming colours.
THOU SHALT RESPECT MINIMALISM
Don't crowd the room: use as little decoration as possible to make your bathroom look bigger. The same goes for the furniture: better one tall column cabinet than several small ones. A towel dryer also takes up very little space.
THOU SHALT PREFER TRANSPARENCY
The less the view is obstructed, the better: Choose clear material for additional elements and accessories. A glass bath screen, for example, or even better: a walk-in shower.
THOU SHALT KEEP THE SPACE CLEAR
Clutter does not go well with a great sense of space. Make the room look tidy and store items in furniture and drawers. Hang everything that can be hung: choose a floating toilet, cupboards and radiator to keep the floor clear.
THOU SHALT CREATE AN ILLUSION
Use mirrors and large tiles to create the optical illusion of a spacious bathroom.
THOU SHALT CHOOSE THE RIGHT LIGHTING
Light creates space. Make sure you have several light sources, especially if your bathroom does not have a window: general lighting, mood lighting, mirror lighting, etc.
