Our History
From 1880 to today

1880

Foundation

Jean Facq founds the company in Brussels (Ixelles). Having started out by collecting old metal, he began selling new metal.

Since 1880, six generations have succeeded one another at its helm, making it the company we know today. In a way, the history of FACQ follows the economic, social and political events of the 20th century.

1905

Relocation

The company grows very quickly and the small warehouse soon no longer suffices. FACQ moves to the Rue de la Corridor in Ixelles.

1915

During the war

Jean Vanden Dael, the grandson of the company's founder, leaves as a war volunteer. The company remains idle until 1919.

1928

Second point of sale

FACQ expands its customer base and opens a second outlet in Brussels (rue Verhoeven, Laeken).

1931

"FACQ Revue"

To keep its installers informed, FACQ created a magazine called "FACQ Revue", some issues of which were illustrated by Hergé.

1965

Location to Zaventem

The buildings on rue du couloir (Ixelles) and rue Verhoeven (Laeken) are no longer sufficient to cope with the company's steady growth. FACQ decided to build a large single-storey warehouse outside Brussels. This is the current sales outlet in Zaventem.
